- 2 ½ mugs of white Basmati rice
- 5 mugs of boiling water (water boiled in a kettle is fine)
- Salt to taste
- Place 2 ½ mugs of basmati rice in cold water, covering the rice. Wash the white residue out. Repeat process 3-4 times.
- Put 5 mugs of boiling water on rice. Add salt as required. Two level teaspoons are enough.
- Place on medium flame, on low heat, for 25 minutes.
- Remove from heat and serve.
