HSBC special Christmas credit card deal
Spread the cost of Christmas with the latest credit card from HSBC. The card offers zero per cent interest on balance transfers and purchases for nine months, and price protection insurance to stop customers paying more than they need for presents.
HSBC has made a bid to win over Christmas shoppers.
Roger Lovering, HSBCs head of cards says, “We know that millions of people will borrow during the festive season but as a responsible lender we can help in three ways.
“Building on the initiative we announced earlier this year to share full credit data for five million HSBC customers, we can guard against lending to those who cannot afford to repay their borrowings.
Next we can make sure, through our price promise insurance that no HSBC customer pays over the odds for Christmas gifts and associated purchases. And finally, we can ensure that we don’t add to the debt burden by offering a ’no strings’ deal for a full nine months.” He added.
HSBC has also broken rank from credit card providers looking to cash in on customers taking out zero per cent deals.
The HSBC Bank credit card offers low rates and does not charge for balance transfers. It continues to extend the interest free period to include cash advances and allocates payments to the most expensive debt first.
In addition, the HSBC price promise is offering customers the chance to cash in on January sales without having to wait until after Christmas.
Under the scheme, HSBC will refund cardholders the difference on a range of products purchased using their HSBC credit card if they find the same branded item more than £10 cheaper somewhere else within 60 days.
