Toys R Us Reveals Top 20 Xmas Toys for 2011

Toys R Us has released its list of must-have toys for Christmas 2011, with 20 toys appearing on this year’s list.

The Terrific Twenty - the toys the retailer believes will be its biggest sellers in the run-up to Xmas – is based on a combination of customer requests and sales trends.

Top of the list is the LeapPad – a trendy tablet computer designed for children. The electronic learning device comes with a video camera and 100 pre-loaded apps and games, and has already sparked a price war on the high street, with Argos, Amazon and Toys R Us all slashing prices from £79.99 to £63.99.

Mike Coogan, Toys R Us marketing director, said: "There is a great level of innovation and expertise in the toy industry this year which has allowed Toys R Us to offer an insight into the fun and exciting toys expected to be the hottest this Christmas ."

"There are plenty of clever new twists on some of the much loved nostalgic toy ranges but also some soft hearted toys with incredible technology so overall there is a great balance for children of all ages."

Commenting on the LeapPad, he commented: "The educational and learning features are a huge hit with parents and children and even though we are only in October, sales are already picking up as mums and dads prepare for the big day."
