Stavros Flatley To Light Up Gloucester For Christmas

Wed, 12 Oct 2011
Gloucester’s festive season lights will this year be turned on by talent show dance duo Stavros Flatley.

The father and son act will perform a 20-minute dance show in the town before taking charge of the switch-on ceremony of the Gloucester Quays Christmas lights on Thursday, October 27.

Alison Tennant, marketing manager at Gloucester Quays, said: "Stavros Flatley were a huge hit with both adults and children when they were on Britain's Got Talent."

"With their memorable dance moves we expect them to once again be a huge hit with the public and create the same fun atmosphere at the Gloucester Quays Christmas light switch-on."

Stavros Flatley caught the nation’s attention while making their way to the final of the third series of the ITV show in 2009.

The pair describe themselves as "two fat versions of Michael Flatley with a Greek element" and now tour the globe entertaining people with their singing/dancing act.

The Xmas lights event will also feature free-of-charge Christmas face painting for children and competitions through which people will be able to win and £300 worth of vouchers to spend at Gloucester Quays.

VIP shopping tickets will also be offered in advance, entitling visitors to free parking, store offers/giveaways, entertainment and free food.
