Mobile phones, MP3 players and tablet computers from Apple have replaced traditional toys as this years most wanted Christmas presents, according to new research.
A survey of more than 2,000 five to 16-year-olds conducted by Duracell found that Apples iPhone 4, iPod Touch and iPad devices are the first, second and third most popular items respectively on Xmas wishlists.
Of those polled, 39 per cent said they wanted an Apple product this Christmas, with the much acclaimed iPhone 4 topping the most wanted chart with 14 per cent of the voted.
The iPod Touch and iPad followed closely with 13 per cent and 12 per cent of requests respectively.
Microsoft and Sony devices are also in demand, with the 6 per cent of those polled wanting the companys upcoming Kinect Xbox 360 motion control gaming peripheral, while 4 per cent are hoping to receive the Move gaming accessory for the Sony Playstation .
