London's Christmas lights were turned on yesterday with the help of a number of celebrities.
Jim Carrey, Bob Hoskins and Colin Firth were all in town to launch Disneys 3D version of the Charles Dickens classic A Christmas Carol.
The trio, who voice the main characters in the film, switched on the Xmas lights in Oxford Street, Regent Street and at St Paul's Cathedral, before heading to Leicester Square for the world premiere of the Scrooge film.
The actors were joined by music acts The Saturdays, Peter Andre, Taio Cruz, and Spandau Ballet at the festive red-carpet event, which included carol singers, huge Christmas trees and even fake snow.
A Christmas Carol is one of the most adapted stories in history, having being turned into a film more than 30 times.
Jim Carrey, who voices the stingy character Scrooge in the new movie, said: "It feels great to be a part of all this tradition."
"I want to thank the people of Britain for the legacy of Charles Dickens and the chance to tell this story. This story couldn't be more important now - it's about the immorality of greed."
