Early Christmas decorations in Hatfield, Hertfordshire, have been criticised by one of the towns barbers .
Raffaele Siciliano, who owns Continental barbers, in Market Place, Hatfield, said the town centre decorations have been put up "way too early" and added he did not think they were particularly good.
Lampposts in and around the market place have been adorned with tinsel in various colours and dotted with lights.
"Anybody could slap that up," the barber commented. "It looks like a token effort to me."
"You get more tinsel and decorations in some of the shops around here than you do in the whole town centre," the 24-year-old added.
Mr Siciliano said he felt the council was "more willing" to spend money in nearby Welwyn Garden City than they were in Hatfield, adding that town looks "way better" than its neighbour once decorations have been put up.
His partner Claire Miller, who also works at the salon, said she felt the decorations were even worse then last year. "At least last year we had lights in the trees."
She added: "People of all races and religions enjoy looking at Christmas decorations because they are warm and welcoming."
