Every Christmas sees a rush for certain toys that are so popular some children are left disappointed. But for those parents who like to plan in advance to save disappointment and the stress, here is this year’s list of popular toys .
1. The FurReal Parrott – known as Squakers McCaw, it’s a little robot that repeats words said in its direction. It will also copy actions and dance.
2. Dancing Igglepiggle – from the hugely successful children’s TV programme, The Night Garden . The character is a teddy bear that carries a red blanket.
3. Eternity II – a board game that is a puzzle. The aim is to arrange all 256 pieces into a square so the colours and patterns are aligned across the puzzle. There is a $2m prize for the first person to arrange the pieces correctly, in the prescribed outcome.
4. Dalek Voice Changer Helmet – a mask that changes the wearer’s voice to that of a Dalek.
5. Doctor Who Master Laser Screwdriver – not to be mistaken for the sonic screwdriver. This one was used by the Doctor’s nemesis, the Master.
6. Transformers – After the success of the film, the figures will be in demand, as well as the Arm Blaster.
7. Barbie Island Princess Talk and Sing Styling Head – Barbie always makes it to the top list. This head talks and sings as her hair is styled.
8. Boutique Monopoly – another version of the popular board game but this time it’s for girls. The pieces, money and board will be pink. The properties will be fashion boutiques and hair salons.
9. FlyTech Dragon Fly – a dragon fly that is remote controlled and can fly horizontally up to 100ft.
10. Ben 10 Omnitrix watch – an alien gadget as featured in the Ben 10 series on Cartoon Network .
